Biggest Flops Of 2017: Katamarayudu, Spyder, Singam 3

Every star has his style and fan following in the film Industry. Big ticket movies often start making noise since the the time the movie goes on floors till it hits the screens.

It is known fact that for any movie, content is the king. The audience always expects an interesting script. This year saw some stars experimenting with new kind of cinema and did it work for them? Well, read on to find out...

Let's take three films-Mahesh's Spyder, Pawan Kalyan's Katamarayudu and Suriya's Singham 3 which did pretty well. However, they were a disaster at the box office. Singham 3 could be dubbed a success, but it failed to evoke the expected resonse.

And we don't have to tell you how popular these three stars are. Now, let's check out their movies...

Spyder: Fans pinned great hopes from Mahesh's recent release Spyder. It was the Telugu superstar's first time collaboration with AR Murgadoss and his debut in Kollywood. The film failed to enthrall the audience. The Telangana rights for Spyder film were sold at a whopping Rs 70 Cr but in the final run, it fetched only a share of only Rs 32 Cr. The film turned out to be the biggest flop in Mahesh's career after Brahmotsavam.

Katamarayudu: It was a remake film of Ajith's hit flick Veeram. But unfortunately, the Telugu version incurred a loss of 33%. Katamarayudu's total gross is approximately Rs 98 Cr and the film did good business overseas. It also did some tremendous business in the opening weekend in Telugu speaking states, raking in a gross of Rs 45 Cr.

Singham-3: The first two installments received a thumping response from the audience. Surya and the makers of the movie were betting big on the third one too because Singham-2 pre-release business was around Rs 100 Cr. The third part sunk without a trace at the box office by the second week itself and it ended up with 35% loss.
