BAC schedules Budget session for only 16 days - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Business Advisory Committee has decided that the AP Assembly will only meet for 16 working days in the current budget session. The BAC met on Saturday to decide on the Assembly operations schedule. It revealed that the session would wind up by the March 30.

Both the yearly and agriculture budgets would be presented on March 10. With regards to the debate of motion of thanks for the Governor’s speech, Chandrababu would respond on March 9. The finance minister will respond to the discussion on the State Budget on March 17.

Kaluva Srinivasulu, the government chief whip revealed that the budget was in session till March 30 and added that the Speaker has decided to allow adjournment resolutions only after the completion of question hour and zero hour.

Jyothula Nehru and Srikanth Reddy who represented the YSRCP party strongly demanded that the budget session should be allowed to go on for 40 days. They had indicated to the BAC that there were 25 main points for discussion. Addressing the press after the meeting, Srikanth Reddy revealed that though they had insisted for a 40 day session, the ruling party did not heed to their demand and added that on their part, they insisted about the rule position which states that the nomination for adjournment resolutions should be conducted at the beginning. 

Srikanth Reddy revealed that they had requested the BAC that resolutions should be taken up just as they were taken up earlier, since no changes were made by the Rules committee. He also stated that they would introduce a no confidence motion against the government in this session.
