AP Bandh For SCS
Amaravarti: AP Bandh called by Prathyeka Hodha Sadhana Committee and supported by most political parties including YSRCP, Congress and the Left started off on a peaceful note on Monday.
Interestingly, the ruling Telugu Desam Party has refused to back the bandh. The political parties are protesting against the Centre's stand on granting Special Category Status (SCS) to AP.
The bandh is being observe peacefully throghout the state with all parties joining hands for the cause of AP. Even the BJP has chosen to stay away from the bandh.
YSRCP Congress Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has halted his Praja Sankalpa Yatra for a day to express solidarity with the bandh.
YSRCP leaders started off the bandh as early as 5 am. They were seen holding a peaceful protest outside bus depots to prevent any bus from moving out.
