Another somersault by AP Govt: No jobs for CRDA land losers

Hyderabad: In a shocking about-turn, the TDP Government has said that it had never promised a job to every household that joins the land-pooling for the construction of the AP Capital. 

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana made it clear that the Government had never promised jobs to every affected household. Replying to a question from YSRCP MLA A Ramakrishna Reddy in the AP legislative assembly on Tuesday, he charged the YSRCP for trying to incite the people of the capital region.

The YSRCP MLA charged that the Government was now going back on its word after promising jobs. "This move only amounts to cheating the youth," Ramakrishna Reddy said. Scores of farmers surrendered their lands to the government in the hope that at least one member of their family gets a job and compensation but are now facing the prospect of losing the land and jobs as well.
"Over 50,000 youth belonging to the capital region were promised jobs and training in skill development. But only 113 of them were given training. But, they were given neither jobs nor stipend," the YSRCP MLA said. He demanded that the youth who gave away their lands should be given jobs or unemployment pension of Rs. 2,000 per month.
