Another Senior Journalist, Mother Killed

Mohali (Punjba): In yet another brutal attack on a journalist, KJ Singh and his mother were killed by unidentified assailants at their residence in Phase 3B2, Mohali on Saturday. KJ Singh is the third journalist to be killed within a week after the gruesome murder of Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru and Shantanu Bhowmik in Tripura.

The murder of Singh came to light when a visitor went inside the house and found both of them in a pool of blood, said Mohali senior superintendent police Kuldeep Chahal.

Singh had a vast experience in journalism. He had worked with the English daily Indian Express as former news editor. He had also worked with The Tribune and The Times of India in Chandigarh.

The police said that Singh's car — Ford Ikon — is also found missing at his house.

Attacks on journalists have resulted in widespread protests across the country demanding stern punishment to the culprits.
