A mob of students attacked a youngster at Anantapur Arts College - Sakshi Post

Anantapur Central: In a brutal attack a mob of students attacked a young man with belts and stones. The incident took place at the Arts College in Anantapur three days ago but it came to light after the video of the attack went viral on social media.

Going into the details, the victim, Rajesh who hails from Chengicherla in Dharmavaram Mandal has been pursuing B.Com first year in Anantapur Arts College.

His friend, Shivayya stopped his education after completing his Tenth-grade studies. Shivayya would occasionally go to the Arts college to meet his friend Rajesh. During this time, he fell in love with a female student, who was familiar with another student named Bharat. Upon learning of Shivayya's intentions, Bharat chose to give him a warning and called him to the college on June 25. When Shivayya reached the college, Bharat along with 25 other students launched an attack on him in front of the e-commerce building on campus. The victim was knocked unconscious after being hit with belts and boulders.

Shivayya, who was grievously injured was rushed to a local hospital by the locals. With the video going viral on social media, the matter was brought to the attention of the local police officials, who summoned the victim on Friday to investigate the matter. It is reported that some of the accused surrendered before the police and some others are absconding. According to the police, the victim's condition is stable now and is recovering. The police stated that the cause of the attack is not only a love affair, but more details will be revealed after the investigation. It was clarified that Shivayya was not a student at Arts College.
