Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock over Telugu actor, director and producer Vijaya Nirmala's death. He conveyed condolences to her family members and said that her death was great loss to the Telugu film industry. YS Jagan mentioned that she was the only female director to have made it to the Guinness Book of Records for directing a maximum number of films in Telugu.

Leader of the Opposition and TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu also expressed his condolences over Vijaya Nirmala's death.

Vijaya Nirmala (75) who was ailing for sometime was undergoing treatment at Continental Hospital in Gachibowli , Hyderabad for the past few days.

Her son Naresh confirmed the news of her death on Thursday morning. He mentioned on his Twitter page, “I regret to inform you that my Mother, senior Artiste, prominent Producer & Director, Dr. G Vijaya Nirmala Garu passed away during early hours today, that is, 27.6.2019, at Continental Hospitals, Hyderabad, due to sickness. She was 75”, the actor tweeted.

He also informed that her body would be kept at her residence in Nanakramguda from 11 am today, for the public to pay their respects. Her last rites will be held on Friday.
