Kadapa: Police arrested three people accused of being involved in the murder of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy. The three detained are his associates Yerra Gangi Reddy, personal assistant Krishna Reddy and son of his domestic help Prakash. They were sent to remand by a local court and sent to the Kadapa Central prison.

Vivekananda Reddy was killed on March 15. While the state government set up an investigation team, his daughter Dr Nareddy Sunitha, and the YSR Congress Party objected to the political interference and had sought a probe by the CBI.

The three were accused of tampering with the evidence. Sources say that he was killed in his bathroom and was shifted to his bedroom later.

It is learned that Gangi reddy a native of Telugu, Thonduru mandal, has been associated with YS Vivekananda Reddy for over three decades. He started an oil business as a bachelor and then later pursued his interest in politics.

Police had suspected Gangi Reddy’s involvement and took him into custody, while Krishna Reddy was arrested after a letter was produced by the family of YS Vivekananda Reddy. Prakash was arrested for washing of blood stains.

Sources say that while Krishna Reddy was with the body of Vivekananda Reddy for quite a long time, Gangi Reddy was involved in wrapping Vivekananda Reddy’s head with a bandage.

50 witnesses have been questioned so far by the SIT. Parameshwara Reddy and Sekhar Reddy, two of Vivekananda Reddy’s aides are still in police custody.
