Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra On Alert For Heat Wave

Vijayawada: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad issued its first heat wave warning for the coming two days in the Rayalaseema and South Coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from the heat wave, a thunderstorm activity was also predicted in Coastal AP on Wednesday and Thursday.

For the next four days, light to moderate rains and thundershowers at isolated places are expected  in the  coastal region of AP region. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, where districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari are likely to experience thunderstorms.However, maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at isolated places in coastal areas.

Rayalaseema

Dry weather conditions were seen across Rayalaseema region where maximum temperature crossed 39 degree Celsius. Anantapur, Kurnool and Nandyal registered the highest temperature of 38-39 degree Celsius. Weathermen  have predicted hot climatic conditions with heat waves for the next 2-3 days in Rayalaseema.

The IMD officials say that  due to south-westerly winds ,dry conditions are prevailing, resulting in rise in day temperatures. The IMD weather forecasting officials are expecting temperatures to go up and humidity conditions will intensify further as the days go by across the State.
