The Bluefrog Connection To Data Breach Scam

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam was touted to be the IT-Hub of the Andhra Pradesh, but it has now become a centre for voter data breach on an unprecedented scale. It is learned that plans were sketched long ago to use Visakhapatnam as the centre for misuse of data.

Along with IT Grids India private limited, there is a Visakhapatnam based company called Bluefrog Mobile Technologies which was involved in creating Sevamithra app. As it turned out this app developed for the ruling TDP in AP is at the eye of this cyber storm across the two states. It has landed Chandrababu Naidu in a political quagmire and he may find it difficult to extricate himself from it. It also has serious legal implications for both Chandrababu and Nara Lokesh.

IT Grids India Private Limited has been providing IT services to Telugu Desam Party they are the developers of this Sevamitra mobile app, which unlawfully stores the data of 3.5crore voters, in violation of laws as spelt out by YSR Congress party National General Secretary, MP Vijayasai Reddy in his complaint to the Cyberabad Police.

Acting on the complaint police raided the office of IT Grids India Private limited at Ayyapa society in Madhapur, Hyderabad, on Saturday and seized a few hard-disks and laptops. They also took four employees into custody as a part of the inquiry.

With another complaint filed by YSRCP leader Tummala Lokeswara Reddy with Madhapur police, Bluefrog’s involvement in the case has come into light.

As per Chandrababu orders under the garb of mobile phone-based services Bluefrog secured the data of voters, their location, and Aadhar card number from AP smart pulse survey, state resident data hub along with Kavya Data Management services.

Lokeswara Reddy stated in his complaint that the data had been collected by Bluefrong and handed over to IT Grids. It is learned that no third party should be in possession of the voter list along with the photos of the voters. In gross violation of Supreme Court orders TDP has such lists.

It is reported that founder of Bluefrog mobile technologies Phani Raju is a close aide of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and had even travelled along with him in his chopper.

According to the reports, Phani Raju has relocated to Visakhapatnam 10 years ago from Singapore. He ventured into real estate and later founded Bluefrog mobile technologies. It is learned that he was introduced to Chandrababu through a key IAS officer in the government. Meanwhile, Phani Raju was providing IT services to TDP apps, NTR trust and this task of the data breach was entrusted to him.
