Andhra Pradesh To Have 4 New Urban Bodies

Andhra Pradesh government has notified four new urban development authorities - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has notified four new urban development authorities. The four bodies will come up in Anantapur-Hindupur, Kurnool, Nellore and Kakinada under the AP Metropolitan Region Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016.

The Anantapur urban development authority will extend over Anantapur municipal corporation and Hindupur and Dharmavaram municipalities which will also comprise 177 villages.

The Kurnool urban development authority will have jurisdiction over Kurnool municipal corporation, Nandyal municipality, Gudur Nagar Panchayat and 111 villages.

Besides 156 villages, the Nellore urban development authority will comprise the five urban local bodies of Nellore, Kavali, Naidupet, and Sullurpet.

The Godavari urban development authority will cover Kakinada and Rajahmundry municipal corporations, Samalkot municipality, Peddapuram municipality, Gollaprolu Nagar Panchayat and 204 villages.
