'Ample land pre-requisite for setting up capital'

YSRCP MLAs Srikanth Reddy, Raghurami Reddy, Ravindranath Reddy and Kadapa Mayor Suresh Babu demanded that Chandrababu Naidu take up the construction of the capital at a place where there is plenty of government land available.

Sivaramakrishnan Committee, which is entrusted the task of finding out the new capital for Andhra Pradesh, visited Kadapa on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLAs said, “The capital must be formed keeping in view the requirements of Telugu people and their future generations.”

There were major protests in Kadapa city to mark the visit of Sivaramakrishnan Committee to the city.

Rayalaseema Student Federation activists entered the meeting hall and lodged protests there.

They demanded an immediate statement on forming the capital in Rayalaseema only. They demanded that the committee take steps to correct the injustice that is being done to Rayalaseema.
