‘Amma Vodi’ To Help Pregnant Women To Be Launched In Hyderabad Soon  

Hyderabad: Telangana government is mulling to launch ‘Amma Vodi' express service in Hyderabad as an aid to pregnant women. The ambulances are meant to carry the pregnant women to hospital and then track their delivery status.

The state government is on talk to collaborate with Emergent Management Research Institute (EMRI), which runs 108 ambulances. It would be a centralized 24x7 call centre with a universal 102 toll free number. On an average, 30 minutes will be reserved as response time for ambulances to reach those in distress.

Software is also being chalked out to track the details of pregnant women. Officials said that after a pregnant women approaches a primary health care centre, staff at referral hospitals would be alerted. These measures will help to curb down maternal mortality rate.
