7-Month-Old Kidnapped Baby Rescued 

Hyderabad: A seven-month-old kidnapped infant was rescued on Monday in Borabanda.

Four persons were held in this regard who sold the infant to a childless couple for Rs 1.5 lakh. Police said the baby was kidnapped from a temple in Balanagar and was given to Raju and Laxmi, who were childless and were looking to adopt a baby. The accused were identified as A Gopi Krishna, D Ravi, D Renuka, B Amruth. Police also arrested Raju and Laxmi for "buying" the child.

Talking about the modus operandi, Balanagar ACP T Goverdhan said Gopi noticed the victim with his parents at IDPL Colony and decided to kidnap the boy. He lured the child's mother on the pretext of helping her in purchasing a domestic gas cylinder within a week.

"Gopi lured the woman along with her child to come to a nearby temple. He diverted her attention and kidnapped the boy," said Goverdhan.
