5 Killed As Speeding Car Hits Autorickshaw

Ahmedabad: Five persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when a speeding car collided with an autorickshaw near Aslali crossroad here on Monday night.

The autorickshaw was going to Aslali Gam from Narol locality in the city when the car hit it at the crossroad at around 10 pm, a police official said. "While two passengers of the autorickshaw died on the spot, three others, who were also travelling in the three-wheeler, succumbed to their injuries during treatment at a hospital this morning," he said. Two other injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the hospital, the official said.

The car driver fled after abandoning his vehicle at the accident site, he said. Police are trying to trace the car owner, he added.
