41 More Rs5 Annapurna Meal Canteens To Be Opened In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The IT, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday said that the government is planning to increase Rs5 meal centers and they are renamed as Annapurna Meal Centers.

Replying to suggestions made by members in Assembly, the minister said 41 more centers will be added to the 109 centers operating in the city making the total 150.

The government decided to name the centers as Annapurna meal centers. The opposition leader Jana Reddy has already credited that the meals are hygiene. These centers will be set up near hospitals and labor addas, KTR said.

The main aim of this program is to provide high quality food at a nominal price of Rs5 to the people.

Kukatpally MLA M. Krishna Rao requested the government to provide free water at these meals centers as now the people are forced to buy water sachets for Rs2.
