Hyderabad: City police have arrested three persons accused in the Masab Tank firing case. Shaik Abdul Raheem, Naresh, Rajendra and Venkataratnam, all from Rajamandry in East Godavary, came to Hyderabad with a plan to rob some rich person. They chose KBS Local Area Bank managing director Manmadha Dalia as their target and befriended his driver to gather all the information about his movements.

The miscreants, who were running a tea stall in Rajamandry, entered the flat of Dalia in Kanumilli apartment in Shanti Nagar in the afternoon on last Sunday and opened fire at him. Dalia sustained injuries, but was out of danger.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner P. Mahender Reddy told media on Sunday that the fourth accused - Venkataratnam - was absconding. "There were speculations that some money exchange scam must be there behind the firing, but there was nothing of that sort," he said adding that the incident was purely a robbery.

The accused were on the run after the incident and they tried to hide in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Three of the four accused were nabbed in three different places. They procured the pistol used in the incident from Bihar, the Commissioner said. The hunt is on to nab the fourth accused, he said.
