2 Students From Andhra Pradesh Drown In Sea Off Chennai 

Chennai: Two students from Andhra Pradesh drowned when they ventured into a treacherous sea off the Kovalam beach in the city outskirts on Saturday.

The victims from Satyabhama University in Chennai went to the beach for sightseeing along with three other friends. All of them caught in the receding tidal waters and were swept away. On seeing the students struggle for life in the water, onlookers rescued three of them while others were swept away into the deep sea. Rescuers later recovered their bodies.

The deceased were identified as Joseph Henry from Nidadavolu in West Godavari and Rakesh from Rajahmundry in East Godavari.
