2 Clerks Of High Court Held For Forging Fee Challans 

Hyderabad: On grounds of cheating and forgery of bank challan receipts for the amounts deposited towards High Court fees, two clerks working for different advocates were arrested by Charminar police on Thursday.

The accused - Shaik Nayeem (24) from Charminar and Shaik Khasim Vali (23) from Ameepet - were collecting court fee from the client but used to remit only a portion of it to the court.
The fraud came to light after High Court registrar complained that receipts pertaining to court fee were forged and the money was siphoned.

In one case, Nayeem deposited Rs.521 in the bank and he forged the receipt as Rs.19,521 and submitted it in the court

The police discovered that the clerks were forging the challans after verifying the receipts submitted in the court and the receipts of money deposited in the bank.

“In one case, Nayeem deposited Rs.521 in the bank and he forged the receipt as Rs.19,521 and submitted it in the court,” said V Satyanarayana, South Zone DCP.

A case under section 406, 471 and 420 of the IPC has been filed.
