170 Child Workers Rescued In Yadadri

Hyderabad: Nearly 170 child labourers working in brick kilns in Yadadri district were rescued on Wednesday by Rachakonda police.

The official said that most children were from Odisha and worked in 18 brick kilns, adding all the owners are enumerated

The rescue operation was done under 'Operation Smile' which was conducted in Bommalaramaram Police Station limits of Yadadri, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat.

A case under relevant sections of IPC, Juvenile Justice Act and under Child Labour Prohibition Act was booked and further investigation is on.
