Midday Meal Setup In Telangana To Feed Over 35000 Children 

A high-tech kitchen was inaugrated by the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Narsingi - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A high-tech kitchen was inaugrated by the Akshaya Patra Foundation on Thursday in Narsingi to provide midday meals to over 35,000 children in the state.

The kitchen has been constructed with the support of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., a member of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). This kitchen, in the current phase, is poised to serve 366 anganwadi centres and 238 schools through the MidDay Meal Programme.

The inauguration was attended by Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Ministers, legislators and officials from Telangana. Ryoichi Shinke, Executive Officer and Regional Executive for India, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., and Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation, attended the event.

"MUFG has been present in India for over 60 years and we have been committed to support not only its economy but in making a difference to the local community. By supporting this noteworthy initiative by Akshaya Patra Foundation, we are providing the necessary conditions for children to attend school and do well," said Shinke. Dasa said Akshaya Patra was committed to serve the nation and feed five million children by 2020.
