Hyderabad: An upmarket restaurant in Jubilee Hills - Ulavacharu - got into trouble on Tuesday after a customer found a live insect in his dish. B. Kiran Goud, a member of the Mandal Parishad Territory Constituency of Saroor Nagar said that he was baffled with the brazen attitude of the manager who overlooked it and said, "Such things happen and they will replace the food."

"I went for lunch and ordered a Jaipur mutton pulao. When the waiter served our second helping, I found a live insect and it was wriggling," said Kiran.

Kiran said had the management apologized , the matter would have been resolved. But their attitude compelled him to lodge a complaint with the health wing of GHMC. He furnished photos and recorded video of the food to the GHMC and the Assistant Food Controller in-charge Sudarshan Reddy said that they would inspect the restaurant in few days. As per the civic body norms, if a pest is found in the kitchen of restaurant it is liable to be fined Rs5,000.
