Award-Winning Actress Trolled For Eating Beef On Television show

While the traditional meal for Onal festival in Kerala is typically a vegetarian diet, award-winning actress Surabhi Lakshmi faced a slew of abusive trolls on social media for eating beef on the festival day during a television show.
It all happened when the actress posted a picture of her savouring beef recipe on her Twitter handle on the festival. However, she said that the picture she had posted was clicked a week ago during a shooting with a local channel. "Without knowing the fact, people are sending abusive trolls on my Twitter page," she said.
One of the Twitter user said: "Next Onam, you must celebrate by having some pork also." One more commented saying: "Everyone has understood the channel and your agenda behind eating beef."
Onam, a 10-day celebration event in God's own country — Kerala, to honour ancient King Mahabali. According to the legends, the state was happy, prosperous and happy under the King. Surabhi Lakshmi had recieved award for the Malayalam film — Minnaminungu at the 64th National Film Awards
