Tamil Actress Held For Kidnapping Her Daughter

Hyderabad: In a sensational incident, a film actress landed in a controversy when she tried to kidnap her daughter from her husband's home.

Vanitha Vijaykumar, daughter of filmi couple Manjula and Vijayakumar, was married to businessman Anand Raj 10 years ago but got divorced in 2012. The court handed over the custody of their only girl child to her father. Accordingly, Anand and his eight-year-old daughter Jainitha shifted to Old Alwal.

Vanitha used to fly down to Hyderabad often to visit her daughter. Last month, she took Jainitha to Chennai with the consent of her ex-husband and did not return her even after the expiry of the agreed deadline. Not just that, she even refused to send back the daughter.

Anand then lodged a complaint claiming that Vanitha had kidnapped her daughter. The Police booked a case of kidnap and illegal confinement against Vanitha and the child has since been restored to her father
