Shootout In AOB, Maoists Killed, Tribal Injured

Two Maoists were killed and a tribal was left grievously injured in a shootout between the Maoists and the security forces on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred in the Lalleri forest of Narayanapatnam on Andhra Odisha border. According to the police, the Maoists fired upon a posse of security personnel, who were conducting combing operations. The police fired back at them. In the process, Maoists died, while a tribal, who was caught in the crossfire suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to the hospital.

In another incident in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur, the Maoists killed a tribal branding him as a police informer.
