YS Jagan Padayatra In Kurnool District: A Round-Up

Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Kurnool district stirred up political heat with the interactive meetings and public gatherings. With the grand success of the 18-day padayatra in the district, political opponents of YSRCP felt waves of fear and anxiety over the party's possible clean sweep in the district.

The YSRCP Chief covered a distance of 263 kilometres across 66 villages in 14 Mandals between 14 November and 3 December. Senior citizens, women, students, unemployed youth, employees, farmers, farm labourers, and physically disabled people have met YS Jagan and poured out their woes to him.

The Opposition leader promised to abolish the CPS and implement the Old pension scheme if YSRCP comes to power. He announced that the YSRCP Bharosa scheme would be extended to all farmers, after having introduced it to benefit small-scale farmers. On the first day of the padayatra in the district on 14 November, Allagadda former market yard chairman Palachani Bali Reddy, Ramireddy, Banagapalle Congress constituency In-charge Pera Ramasubba Reddy and others joined YSRCP in presence of the party Chief.

During the padayatra in Krishna district, former MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, former Rayalaseema Range IG Mohammed Iqbal, and Byreddy Siddhartha Reddy joined the YSRCP, ispired by YS Jagan's sincerity and commitment to develop the state. Also, former TDP In-charge from Allagadda Irigela Rampulla Reddy is planning to join the party in the near future.

In the course of padayatra in Kurnool district, YS Jagan pointed criticised the TDP government for its opportunistic attitude with which the TDP utilised the BC community as a vote bank. He promised to send the BCs to the Legislative Houses. The BCs in the district looked up to the new political revolution in the form of YS Jagan, who had promised to announce a BC declaration after completion of padayatra. The people's leader's decision to form a corporation for every sub-caste has also attracted the masses.
