Sankranthi is considered one of the biggest festivals in Telugu States. Many Tollywood actors vie with each other to release their movies during the festive season. Year 2024 is going to witness a clash of titans: Superstar Mahesh Babu, Victory Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, and Akkineni Nagarjuna are going to be in the race. Mahesh's Guntur Kaaram, Venkatesh's Saindhav, Ravi Teja's Eagle and Nagarjuna's Naa Saami Ranga are set for release during the Sankranthi festival.

According to some reports, Guntur Kaaram and Saindhav are enjoying the fullest possible cooperation from distributors in terms of the allocation of theatres.

The other Sankranthi releases movies (read Eagle, Hanuman and Naa Saami Rang) have an adequate number of theatres assured for themselves.

On the other hand, the Telugu-dubbed Tamil films are going to find it hard. Dhanush's Captain Miller, Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan are in the race. The producers of these films are yet to finalize the release of their movies in the Telugu States because the distributors here haven't assured them of a good release as yet.

The competition is heavy and dubbed films are not going to be preferred by distributors. Lal Salaam is the weakest of all dubbed films. Aylaan and Captain Miller at least belong to rare genres.

More than a dozens movies are going to be released for Pongal. Which of them will emerge as the Sankranthi box office winner remains to be seen.
