 - Sakshi Post

New Delhi, May 26:  Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called on the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman here on Friday and held discussions on various issues relating to the State.
During the 40-mintute meeting, the Chief Minister thanked her for extending financial help to the State.
He also raised the issues of resource gap funding for the year 2014-15, financial risks emanating from the excess borrowings made during the TDP rule from 2016-19 and the necessity of relaxations on borrowings.

Reminding her that the issue of the outstanding dues of Rs. 6,756.92crore from the Telangana Discoms to the AP Genco for supplying power post-bifurcation was mentioned many a time before the Central Government, he urged her to initiate immediate action so that the dues are recovered at the earliest. AP Genco badly needs funds, he said.
Informing her that the State has brought revolutionary changes in educational, medical and health sectors, the Chief Minister said the Government has incurred Rs. 6000 crore under first phase of Nadu-Nedu improving basic infrastructure in 15,717 schools and digitalising the class rooms with interactive flat panels (IFPs).  Under the Nadu-Nedu in health and medical field, Rs. 4000crore was spent establishing village clinics and improving the infrastructure in teaching hospitals.

Since the Centre has proposed in the annual budget to give special assistance on capital investment incurred by the States, he urged the finance minister to treat the Rs. 10,000crore spent under the Nadu-Nedu as capital investment and release special assistance.
The Chief Minister will address the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on Saturday.
