Will Nitish Propose A Fresh Face As The Next CM Of Bihar?

Nitish Kumar - Sakshi Post

Patna: It is clear that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprising BJP, JD-U and LJP, will fight the Bihar assembly elections likely to be scheduled towards the end of 2020 unitedly. However, the one question which is doing the rounds in political circles is whether Nitish Kumar would give way to another leader the next time around. Who will be the next chief minister of Bihar? This is the million dollar question, so to say, doing the rounds. It is being said that there are leaders in the JD-U who are not too pleased with Nitish and are seeking a change of guard. There are those in his party who feel that his governance has been far from satisfactory. Analysts say that Nitish may seek to opt out of the race of chief ministership and present a new face. Nitish may wish to propose the name of a candidate which is acceptable to all. Moreover, Nitish's son, it is said, has no interest in politics. This brings us back to the central question, who will replace him? Speculation is rife that Nitish Kumar may name ace political strategist Prashant

Kishore as his successor. If that indeed comes true, it would be a master stroke because who can craft a win better than Prashant Kishor? The reason behind this buzz is the elevation of Prashant Kishor as the Vice-President of JD-U. Moreover, PK is a figure untouched by controversy of any kind and his elevation as Vice-president in the party did not ruffle any feathers. It would come as no surprise if he were to emerge as the consensus candidate, should Nitish decide to give way to a fresh face.
