Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu on Saturday faced a bitter experience when he was not allowed by the police inside the SRM University campus, which has set up its new AP campus in capital city Amaravati.

Even after explaining that he is a Minister, the the police personnel did not allow him inside the campus. Angry over the incident, he immediately returned back in his convoy.

Collector Kona Sasidhar immediately called him on phone to explain the situation and appealed to the Minister to attend the event. However, Ayyanna Patrudu refused his plea. Meanwhile, the supporters of Ayyanna Patrudu accused Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao of playing such cheap tricks.

Ever since the Vizag land scam was exposed recently, Minister Ayyanna Patrudu is being isolated by the TDP government and Ganta Srinivasa Rao in particular. Time to time differences have been cropping up between both the factions of Ganta and Ayyanna Patrudu.

Meanwhile, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the SRM's AP Campus. The SRM -AP campus would be a research-intensive university with emphasis on application-oriented learning. The state government allotted 200 acres of land for the university in the capital region and the SRM would invest Rs 3,000 crore over the next decade to take the 40,000 students.
