Left Parties Lay A Siege To Anantapur Over Farm Sector Crisis

Anantapur: The Left party activists staged a dharna in front of the Anantapur Collectorate demanding solution to farm sector problems. A tense situation prevailed when they tried to storm into the collectorate and the police prevented them from doing so.

The Left parties had given a 48-hour agitation call to highlight the plight of the farmers in the drought-stricken Anantapur. As part of this, they stormed the Collectorate. The Left party leaders said that the Government was doing precious little to address the farm sector crisis in perennially drought-hit Anantapur district.
