Hours before swearing in, TDP activists, police come to blows - Sakshi Post

Few hours before Chandrababu Naidu is set to be sworn in as the first CM of divided Andhra Pradesh, a spate of altercations broke out between police and TDP activists at the venue.  Police had to resort to lathicharge to keep the activists under control.

With temperatures soaring high, and no respite from heat at sight, hundreds of activists took refuge in the VIP area, which was the only shaded area available.  When the police asked them to vacate the place, as VIPs were arriving the activists started creating a ruckus.

The TDP men broke chairs and protested against the police. When the situation turned tense, police resorted to lathicharge.

Meanwhile, several Union Ministers and other senior leaders, in a special flight, reached Guntur to take part in Chandrababu's swearing-in. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan also arrived in a special aircraft to Guntur.
