Hasini Murder Case: Death Sentence, 46 Years Jail to Chennai Techie

Chennai: Chengalpatti Mahila court, on Monday, convicted techie Dhasvanth to 46 years of jail term and death sentence in the sensational rape and murder case of 7-year-old Hasini.
The court pronounced the verdict in the case that involved rape and two murders by the accused Dhasvanth. Tense moments continued at the Mahila court throughout the day as victim Hasini's family and accused Dhasvanth awaited the verdict.
In February 2017, Dhasvanth lured the girl Hasini to his apartment and allegedly raped and strangulated her to death. He, then, transported the body in a travel bag to an undisclosed place near a highway and burnt the body by dousing it with petrol.
After his arrest, his father sought bail on technical grounds and got his son released from jail. Soon after his release in September 2017, he committed another gruesome murder by killing his mother Sarala at Kundrathur in the city and escaped to Mumbai with her jewellery.
The Tamil Nadu police along with the Mumbai police arrested him and brought him back to Chennai. As many as 30 witnesses, 45 documents including 19 pieces of evidence have been examined by the court. Locals alleged that Dhasvanth, a mechanical engineer by profession, used to lure children on various pretexts.
Here is how Twitterati reacted to Dhasvanth's conviction:
Senseless behaviour by @PTTVOnlineNews journalist repeatedly asking Hasini father as what his State of mind is. Don't you know what it would be for a father who lost his child. Full of TRP hungry moronic attitude rather than concern in their questions. #HasiniMurderCase — Ram (@itzramk) February 19, 2018 Just kill him and be done — Kiranya CG (@kiranya_cg) February 19, 2018 #HasiniMurderCase - it is important to watch 1. how soon/fast the punishment is to be executed 2. Higher appeals and mercy petition must not be entertained whatsoever 3.
