Gandhi Medicos Go On Flash Strike After Being Attacked By Dead Patient’s Kin

Hyderabad: The junior doctors at Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday morning went on a flash strike and boycotted their regular duties after two women junior doctors were allegedly attacked by relatives of a patient who died minutes after admitting in the early hours.
The medicos were attending on 70-year-old Mohammed Muneer who was brought to the emergency department of the hospital at 3.30am. According to officials, the patient died while undergoing treatment, which apparently triggered a violent response from the relatives who accompanied Muneer to the hospital.
According to medicos, the two women junior doctors have received serious injuries in the attack. The patient was brought in a critical condition with a severe chest pain and the junior doctors put in all efforts in their control to resuscitate him, they said. A total of nine people attacked the doctors injuring two of them. The Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Gandhi Hospital has already filed a police complaint with Chilkalguda police station.
Meanwhile, the Hospital Superintendent, Dr Sravan Kumar said that efforts will be made to reduce the impact of the flash strike of medicos.
