Kedarnath Is A Pure Love Story Audiences Will Watch After Ages!

Sushant Singh Rajput  and Sara Ali Khan in Kedarnath - Sakshi Post

A  bigger than a life film Kedarnath not only explores the religious place and tragic floods but also a pure love story between a porter Sushant Singh Rajput and a devotee Sara Ali Khan. The love story set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand flood is a pure fictional plot and portrays the real life tragedy that hit Uttarakhand in 2013.

Gattu aka Abhishekh Kapoor who takes inspiration from real life stories for his films has carved a niche of his own with unconventional stories concepts. This fictional love story is way to bring the Uttarakhand tragedy in light.

Talking about this Abhishekh Kapoor says, “when you go to Kedarnath and study about the floods and what happened you realise that the topography of it is so mammoth. And it’s a real event. So, you study the history and what happened, in as much detail as you can and recreate if from the scratch. The idea of making this film is to bring a lot of healing, to who we are and also offer shraddhanjali to those whose died or went missing. The participation of the viewer needs a fictional plot. So, why not a love story. I chose the simplest and the easiest way to take the viewers there”.

The film shot exclusively in Kedarnath takes its inspiration from real location. The director aspires to create more Indian films rather than imitating a western one. Going to Kedarnath made him realise the real struggles of a Pithoos, who take all the devotees up. This really melted his heart and made him realize love and humanity is still alive in Kedarnath and the floods saw a major loss of many lives. This film is made to bring healing to those who died in the tragedy and went missing.

The unsaid story and the infamous tragedy of Kedarnath will be showcased in the film which is all set to hit the cinema on 7th December 2018. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor.
