My Experience With Serial Liar, Casanova Nawazuddin: Niharika Singh In Me Too

Niharika Singh is a Former Miss India and an actor. She is the latest celebrity to open up about the sexual harassment being rampant in showbiz. She wrote a lengthy post as part of the #MeToo movement, which is an account of her own experience in the showbiz industry. Her views on #MeToo were posted on twitter, shared by journalist Sandhya Menon. "Niharika's piece talks about what constitutes abuse, who we choose to punish and whom we are willing to forgive."

Niharika, in the post writes about her family, childhood and work place, sharing experiences from her life's journey. She gave a detailed description of how she felt, walking across the landscape of the entertainment industry. She shared her experiences as a model, being a beauty queen and then a wannabe actor in Bollywood. The former beauty pageant winner gives a detail account on how she managed to escape the advances passed at her by first film producer Bhushan Kumar owner of the production company T-Series, she writes, “He called me to his office to sign ‘A New Love Ishtory’ where he gave me an envelope as a signing amount for the film. It contained two 500 Rupee notes (less than 14$). I got a text from him later that night- ‘I would love to know you more. Let’s get together sometime.’ I wrote back saying- ‘Absolutely! Lets go on a double date. You bring your wife. I’ll bring my boyfriend.’ He never wrote to me again.” The ace producer has neither denied nor accepted the allegation.

She also opens up about her actor boyfriend Nawazuddin Siddiqui from where she met him, that is on sets of their first film together “Miss Lovely”. She mentioned Nawazuddin as Nowaz in the post, also stating that is how he liked being called. “One morning, when I was home and he had been shooting all night, Nowaz sent me a text saying he was near my building. I invited him over and asked him to come and have breakfast with me. When I opened the door, he grabbed me. I tried to push him away but he wouldn’t let go. After a little coercion, I finally gave in. I wasn’t sure what to make of this relationship. He told me it was his dream to have a Miss India or an actress wife, just like Paresh Rawal and Manoj Bajpayee. I found his little confession funny but endearing,” she writes. She also wrote that she had to put a period to the relationship, when she came to know, Nawaz was a serial liar and a Casanova.
