Traffic Jam in Medaram: Woman Dies on Way to Hospital

Medaram: In a tragic incident, a woman who was being shifted to hospital died midway after the ambulance in which she was being taken got held up in a traffic jam due to heavy vehicular rush towards Medaram.

According to the police, the victim named Kalabai was pregnant when she came to Sammakka Saralamma Jatara along with her family two days ago. As she developed labour pains on Wednesday morning, she was immediately rushed to a hospital in Eturunagaram where she gave birth to a baby boy.

However, she developed severe health complication due to continuous bleeding. The doctors suggested the family to shift Kalabai to a hospital in Mulugu. While taking her from Eturunagaram, the ambulance was unable to move after certain distance. There was traffic jam for more then thre hours due to the heavy inflow of devotees to Medaram. Unable to reach to the hospital on time, Kalabai dies in the ambulance. Unfortunately, the medical staff could not save her life.
