Pushkaram Tragedy: YS Jagan demands Chandrababu’s resignation - Sakshi Post

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday demanded that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu own up moral responsibility for the tragic stampede at Pushkar Ghat in Rajahmundry, that claimed 29 lives.

In a strong attack on Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan said the stampede was caused by Chandrababu Naidus reckless decision to take a holy dip and perform pujas at Pushkar Ghat instead of the specially designated VIP Ghat. He said in order to garner all the credit for himself, Chandrababu Naidu did not delegate duties to various departments. He ridiculed the decision to order an inquiry. Everyone knows who is responsible for the stampede. He blocked the devotees for over two hours at Pushkar Ghat, he said.

He asked Chandrababu to apologise to the people and then cleanse himself by taking a dip in Ganga River at Kashi. Chandrababu should be jailed for slaughter. In the name of inquiry, he would blame some scapegoats and go scot-free, he said.

Earlier, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who cancelled his Iftar at Vijayawada and rushed to Rajahmundry to console the victims and the kin of those who lost their lives in the stampede. He expressed shock at the stampede. He demanded that the injured be given comprehensive medical assistance and ex-gratia to the kin of those who died.
