Hyderabad Metro Live Data Available Now on Google Maps!

Hyderabad commuters just got a major boost in convenience. The full route and schedule dataset for the Hyderabad Metro has been released in a standard format and integrated with Google Maps, enabling real-time train timing updates and route planning directly on the app.
The state government of Telangana, in collaboration with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), published the network’s full General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) dataset covering all three metro corridors, 118 stations and 6,958 scheduled weekly trips. Commuters can now open Google Maps and view live arrival times, route options and delay alerts, all syncing automatically thanks to the GTFS feed.
This move is a key part of Telangana’s broader push to develop data-driven digital public infrastructure. Officials say a similar dataset covering the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses, covering over 5,920 stops and more than 50,000 weekly trips, is expected very soon. Once live, commuters will be able to plan multi-modal trips combining metro and buses in one seamless interface.
For daily riders on the Hyderabad Metro, the change is immediate and impactful. Whether you're catching your train on time, checking for the fastest route, or avoiding transfer delays, this dataset integration brings the metro system closer to smart public transport models seen in major global cities.
