CUET 2022 Date: How to Apply for Common Universities Entrance Test

CUET2022 - Sakshi Post

CUET 2022: The application process for the Common Universities Entrance Test will begin in the first week of April 2022. Here are a few things you must know about the CUET 2022 examination pattern.

As per a statement issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday, the application process for CUET-2022, an entrance exam for UG Admissions for the academic year 2022–23, will begin soon. The exam has become mandatory for all students who want to get into universities for undergrad courses.

On Monday, UGC introduced CUET 2022, a Common Entrance Exam, which is now compulsory for admissions to undergraduate courses at any of the 45 central universities that are registered under UGC. It came under the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), a mandatory exam for postgraduate courses.

As per UGC reports, CUET will be conducted by the National Testing Agency and the exam will be held for 2-3 hours, depending on the subjects. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages—English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia, and Urdu.

The CUET will comprise 3 parts as a test. The first part is a test of language on candidate interests; the second is to test the candidate's domain-specific knowledge. There will be 27 topics available, from which the candidate must choose one and can extend it up to a maximum of six.

As per UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, the CUET 2022 might be conducted in the first week of July. As of now, the CUET is compulsory for central universities, but the government is open to other institutions, including private universities, that want to adopt this exam.

Admission to undergraduate courses in these universities will be solely based on the CUET score, and Class 12 Board marks will not carry any weightage, Kumar said. Universities can, at best, use the board exam marks as an eligibility criterion for the test.

A large number of central universities have also confirmed their participation in the CUET-2022 (PG), the details of which will be available on the NTA website shortly, he also added.
