Conjoined Twins Saba, Farah Cast Votes As Separate Individuals In Patna

Patna: India is voting in its last phase of the mega seven-phase electoral exercise. 59 Lok Sabha constituencies spanning seven states and a Union Territory across north, central and east India are voting on Sunday.

Of all the electorates who are casting the votes today, two conjoined sisters Saba and Farah who cast their votes as separate individuals with independent voting rights for the first time in Bihar's Patna has hogged the limelight.

In the photograph, the two seemed happy and showed their inked fingers to the cameramen. Election Commission posted the photograph of the two and it was certainly a treat to the eyes.

This last phase covers all remaining seats in the three states — Uttar Pradesh (13, including the high-profile Varanasi constituency), Bihar (8) and West Bengal (9) – where polling took place across all seven phases, as well as Madhya Pradesh (8) and Jharkhand (3) which also saw multi-stage voting.

All the 13 constituencies in Punjab, one in Chandigarh, and four in Himachal Pradesh also figure in this phase.

Nearly 26 per cent voter turnout was recorded in polling for 59 seats till 12 noon,  with the maximum 32.53 per cent voting in West Bengal.
