Naidu’s chanting old lyric disheartens T-TDP seniors - Sakshi Post

Belying the hopes of the Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, party president N Chandrababu Naidu did not utter anything new on the Telangana tangle.

As Naidu entered Telangana this afternoon during his foot march, party leaders in the region fondly hoped that he would make an announcement on the contentious issue.

Totally dampening their spirits, Naidu only sang the same sold song that he would make the TDP stand clear on the separate state demand at an all-party meeting, whenever it is called by the UPA Government at the Centre. The repeated remarks not only disheartened the cadre but also the leaders. With Naidu’s latest remarks, senior TDP leaders have already started discussing among themselves, albeit privately, whether the TDP will have any future in the region.

What has surprised many is that during his speech Naidu’s unexpected mention of the name of Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi. “Why am I being asked repeatedly to make my stand clear on the issue. Why don’t you ask Chiranjeevi, who floated his erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party only with the sole aim of doling out social justice and formation of Telangana state on these lines,” he asked the gathering.

Naidu has once again proved that in an embarrassing situation he comfortably passes the buck on others. When he is asked to make his stand clear on the Telangana demand why is he raking up Chiranjeevi’s name, analysts asked.
