Flurry of activity over L and T letter on Metro Rail - Sakshi Post

A letter purported to be written by L and T Metro Rail Corporation CMD Vivek Gadgil expressing the company's inability to continue with the prestigious Metro rail project has created waves in Hyderabad and Telangana on Wednesday.

While the eight page letter, leaked to a section of media, raised questions about cost escalation and project viability. There were also stinging comments on AP bifurcation.

The letter made Telangana government to go into a huddle. Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy had emergency meetings with chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and chief minister KCR.  The MD clarified that the metro works were not stopped anywhere in the city. He also rubbished the rumours on the project.

While the T Government said this could be a ploy by anti-Telangana forces to offset the resounding victory in Medak bypolls,  Congress MLC  Shabbir Ali said  L&T officials are not interested to go ahead with Hyderabad metro rail project only due to the attitude of Telanagana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao.

Similarly, TDP MLA Revanth Reddy said that KCR government in the state became a big obstacle for the works of metro rail. He questioned whether KCR brought pressure on the L&T officials to change the alignment.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Wednesday, minister KTR said that Chief Minister will respond on the matter soon. Some news papers are publishing wrong items intentionally on the metro rail project.
