Decision to impose President's rule unfortunate: Mysoora Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad, Describing as "unfortunate" the decision to impose President's Rule in the state, YSR Congress Party on Friday said Congress has run away from responsibilities.

"The decision to impose President's rule in Andhra Pradesh is unfortunate. People of the state voted Congress to power with a view that it would provide stability.

"But the party has given up its hopes in forming the government and has recommended for President's rule, which shows that it is on the verge of total collapse," senior YSRCP leader  Mysoora Reddy told reporters here.

"The (Congress) party MLAs are running helter-skelter for political cover after gauging the situation and concluding that the Congress boat is sinking and it is time for Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to pack their bags," he said.

"They have created much hype about forming a government and even floated some names, but finally gave up as the situation was hopeless and the party is facing a certain rout," the leader said.

In an apparent reference to Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, he said, "The person who was nominated to the Upper House was part of the team that has drafted a Bill, which has many loopholes and has whipped regional passions.

"He made many promises of special status and package, schools, universities and many other sops to Seemandhra. These are all empty promises and they cannot be fulfilled with elections very close at hand and surveys pointedly telling that Congress will get just 50 -60 seats," Reddy said.

According to him, what the Union Minister has said or the assurances made by the Prime Minister were not included in the Bill and there is no scope for anyone to question if they are not taken up in the coming days.
