Congress diluting YSR's schemes: Vijayamma - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress honorary president, Y.S.Vijayamma's deeksha entered the second day today. She is on a two-day hunger strike in Eluru demanding budgetary allocation for the fee reimbursement scheme. Vijayamma criticized the Congress government for trying to dilute the schemes devised by her late husband and Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and  for creating unrest among students and their parents, as she addressed a huge gathering in Eluru.

The deeksha has seen active participation of party leaders, activists, students and their parents. She asked the government to clear dues to the tune of several crores of rupees and relieve students and their parents of mental tension. She also mentioned about the party's fight on this issue by the party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in February this year. She was also critical of the Cabinet sub-committee’s recommendations to prune the scheme, stating that it was a burden upon the state. She accused the state government of not starting the counselling even by mid-August to provide admission to students in engineering colleges.

The YSR Congress honorary president while addressing the crowd said, “Our party president Mr Jagan asked me to fight for your cause and we are here to fulfill it. We vow to continue to fight with government to implement all the welfare schemes. We thank you for showing such wonderful support to us in the by-polls and expect the same in the days to come.”
