Botched C Section Kills Vijayawada Woman Who Slipped Into Coma

Vijayawada: A week after a botched C-section surgery, a 27-year old woman died after slipping into coma at Vijayawada Government hospital.

According to reports, the woman Vanga Chittemma, a native of Kalabalem village in Krishna district was admitted into a hospital in Kaikaluru following labour pains on February 19. She was later shifted to Vijayawada government hospital where the doctors performed a Ceasarian operation.

The woman delivered a baby girl after the surgery and was shifted to general ward. Hours after the surgery, the woman was shifted to ICU after she complained of stomach pain where she then slipped into coma.

The doctors told her relatives that the woman was diagnosed with some kidney ailment and that she had to undergo a dialysis, following which the doctors shifted the woman to Guntur Government hospital. Chittemma was taken to Guntur for dialysis.

The woman died on Sunday while undergoing treatment and the family alleged that the negligence of the doctors at Vijayawada hospital has caused death of the woman.

The family members of the deceased staged a protest at the hospital and demanded the arrest of the negligent doctors.
