BJP Mahila Leader Slaps Hindu Girl For Having Affair With Muslim Man

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): A woman BJP leader has been caught on camera slapping a girl here for allegedly having affair with a Muslim youth. The incident happened on Tuesday, but it caught netizens’ attention after the video has gone viral. The video drew condemning from the netizens for the action done by Sangeeta Varshney, the president of BJP's Mahila Morcha.

In the video, the woman is heard saying, "Tere ko samajh mein nahi aataa kaun Hindu hai, kaun Musalmaan hai. Pyaar se samajhaa rahee hoon, samajh hee mein nahi aa raha. (Don't you understand who is a Hindu and who is a Muslim. I am politely making this clear, but even then it seems that you are not getting it)."

She further justified her action saying, "I do not have any problems with Muslims. But, we have a problem with their policy of alluring Hindu girls."

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Pandey said that after the slapping incident, a case under relevant sections of the IPC pertaining to obscenity at a public place was registered against the youth. The youth was arrested but later released on bail. The girl's father took his daughter away after declaring that he and his family did not wish to make an issue of the incident.

"I am a very poor person and I don't want to get involved in any kind of controversy. I have already apologized to everyone and don't want to pursue the matter. I was not aware of my daughter's relationship with the man," the girl's father said.
