AP to air-lift indisposed Telugu tourists from Howrah
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government is making all efforts to bring back all the 48 pilgrims who fell sick after eating at a hotel in Howrah on Sunday.
As many as 33 were hospitalised due to food poisoning. As per reports, they went on pilgrimage to Varnasi from Kavali and Ongole last week.The tour was organised by a private travel agency. Of the 48 pilgrims 18 were woman and 10 were children. Srikanth, one among them who hails from Ongole, informed the situation to Minister for Urban Development Dr P. Narayana, who is on a official tour of Nellore district.
Narayana alerted the CM's office immediately. State and district administrative authorities have decided to airlift the pilgrims. Meanwhile, minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has left for Howrah.
