Woman held for torturing stepdaughter

Hyderabad: Police arrested a woman for torturing her stepdaughter while the victim’s father is absconding.

The incident came to light when the victim approached the Child Labour Commission unable to bear the torture meted out to her by her stepmother.

According to reports, Ramesh was living in L B Nagar, Hyderabad with his second wife Chamundeshwari after being divorced from first wife.

The duo brought home Ramesh’s daughter Pratyusha to do the household chorus. Meanwhile Pratyusha’s stepmother allegedly subjected her to various forms of torture.

Unable to bear the trauma, Pratyusha had approached the Child Labor Commission who admitted her to an orphanage.
