T seeks extension of EAMCET admission process

The Telangana government on Monday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court seeking extension of the deadline for completing the admission process for professional courses from August to October-end. 

The government cited paucity of bureaucrats to work out the modalities of the fee reimbursement scheme.

It has already announced that it will not reimburse the fee  for the students from Andhra Pradesh studying in Hyderabad or other parts of Telangana. KCR's government recently sanctioned a total of 200 additional medical seats to three medical colleges in the state from the current academic year.

With this, the total number of medical seats in Telangana has gone up to 800 from 600.
